Sign up for an account, add lots of friends, digg your friends stories on a regular basis, and your stories will get dugg more too. That means more traffic. You need to post on a regular basis because many of the indexing bots (not just search engines) can tell how often you add new content to your site. The more often your site is updated with new content, the more relevant it becomes.
